The Year of Certifications: Altem Team

Altem Technologies has been partnered with Dassault Systemes for Software Sales and Support in the India region for the past 12 years. Presently Altem is holding the Gold Partnership tag as the Dassault Systemes Value Added Reseller.

Dassault Systemes is a French software corporation that develops software for 3D product design, simulation, manufacturing, encompassing the entire Product Lifecycle Management of mechanical systems. Founded in 1981, it is headquartered in France and has around 20,000 employees in 140 countries.

Altem Technologies is responsible for the sales and support of multiple software brands of Dassault Systemes, which includes 3DEXPERIENCE, CATIA, DELMIA, and BIOVIA. Dassault Systemes needs to make certain that all their Partners worldwide are equipped with the latest technology updates for all their software solutions. Being an OEM, Dassault Systemes insists that their value-added resellers deliver the right solutions which our customers can use extensively and efficiently to deliver the promises which they have made to strive in the global market. One of their methodologies is that they mandate that all the partners must pass the certification exams.

They have structured the certification exams around the IPE (Industry Process Experience) and spread it across 7 categories to equip the partners on both sales and technical fronts. Dassault Systemes mandates that each partner should have completed certification exams related to at least 5 categories to be in contention for the prestigious Platinum Partner tag.

We are proud to say Altem team has completed Certification exams across 5 categories (Brand, Industry, Professional Sales, Infrastructure Architect, and Technical Support) and is now in contention to get the Platinum partner tag.

For the second mandate related to certification, partners are required to clear both sales and technical certification exams to be certified for relevant IPE categories. Based on the number of IPEs the partners are certified, and they are eligible for the sales of a particular set of roles or trigrams. Also, the IPEs are evenly distributed around the 11 industries which are being served by Dassault Systemes.

In Altem Technologies we have a team of 15 sales associates and 10 technical associates, and each associate was involved in attending and clearing the relevant certification exams to get certified for relevant IPEs. We targeted to get certified for 15 IPEs based on our software sales categories and had to clear at least 20 different certification exams related to sales and technical. We are proud to say that our associates have cleared 120 certification exams in this year (Year-2022) and achieved our target of 10 IPEs until 31st of December 2022. As per serving the industries’ point of view, the targeted certification exams will enable the team of Altem Technologies to serve 6 industries (Transportation and Mobility, Aerospace and Defence, Industrial Equipment, High-Tech, Energy and Materials, and Life Science).

The certification exams enable our team to understand the new global trends and technological advancement. With the certifications, we can understand the user challenges, user requirements, and business drivers in the market, so that we can propose a solution that will be assuring the fulfilment of the promise that a brand offered by Dassault Systemes can deliver. This process makes our team capable of implementing certain solutions like working in a collaborative space, applying systems thinking approach, managing the teams and resources at a level that can bring a significant positive change. This empowers our customers to face the challenge from the competition and they are able to acknowledge the difference which they experience before and after the successful implementation of the solution. The technical team must also clear certification exams related to software support categories, which helps them to empower the technical associates to better understand the infrastructure and the architecture of the solution to be implemented. This is certainly needed for installation and troubleshooting while working on the solution.

The content provided by Dassault Systems for certification is so rich and compelling, it empowers both the technical and sales resources in distinct aspects. The assessment makes the technical resources competent to identify the exact solution appropriate for the customer by analysing the capabilities offered. To accomplish this role, the assessment process makes the team capable to identify key business drivers (like Sustainability, Circular Innovation, Mass Customization, Regulations, Quality and Cost Reduction, etc.) for the industries. We are also able to identify how the brand, which is available as the solution, is connected, collaborative, and cognitive. Another key challenge for the Altem associates is to know the customer requirements, and what are their challenges.

Based on this it is important to provide a solution which can directly address their issues, like implementing a solution that automates repetitive tasks and product definition or suggesting a holistic approach and means, to enable the realization of the successful system in large projects and connected worlds. For the team members who are dedicated to sales, the assessment process enables them to identify global business challenges and how our brand is capable to overcome these challenges. The team is also able to identify the key differentiators which make our brand superior to that of the competitor in terms of investments incurred and technical aspects.
