With traditional way of making the Drone tracking device prototype, which took considerable time, Accord felt there is an urgent need to create faster prototype for a Drone GPS Tracking Device. The main objective was to validate the design fit, and 3D printing technology came to the rescue. By utilizing ABS filament as a 3D Printing materials, Engineering grade thermoplastic material in FDM 3D printing, Accord not only achieved the design validation but also conducted real-time functional testing.
Moreover, utilizing 3D Printing machine for prototype significantly contributed to reducing the overall weight of the enclosure, resulting in increased payload capacity for the drone. This was a crucial advantage, as lightweight enclosures are vital for drone performance and efficiency.
The success of FDM 3D Printing in meeting their expectations delighted the Product execution & CAD Engineering team at Accord.
