Crafting Perfect Smiles
Clear Aligners are transparent trays made of special material which are used to straighten teeth just like braces. They use gentle and constant force to move the teeth in the required position without going through the hassles of metal wires and brackets.
Direct Digital Dentistry plays a crucial role in the business model of Clear Aligner manufacturing with the ability to create large volume of devices in a very short span of time hence giving the ability to dental labs to address a high volume of patients.
The process starts with an intra-oral 3D scan of the patient’s mouth, a treatment plan is digitally designed, and 3D Printed. These resin 3D Printer models are further taken into thermoforming machine over which thin transparent plastic sheets are formed to create the clear aligner.
Flash Orthodontics uses a pair of Objet Eden260V™ and a J700 Dental 3D Printer, and the machines’ VeroDent™ material, which creates more accurate, durable dental models at lower cost, resulting in smoother aligner production and shorter treatment time for patients.
Flash Orthodontics added its first dental 3D printer an Objet Eden260V 3D Printer in 2016 and a second Objet Eden260V a year later. As printer usage increased in 18 months, the lab added their third production series J700 Dental™ 3D Printer in 2020
The printers print high up to 60-65 high precision aligner models a timeframe of 3-4 hours.
