Stratasys ‘Strategic Vision Partner’ Award / 4D Printing

Glad to share with you all  that we have been awarded by Stratasys APJ Ltd., as “Partner with Strategic Vision” This is a first notable recognition for Altem Technologies Bangalore, India after the merger of Stratasys Inc USA and Objet Geometrics. The award was given to us during the Asia-Pacific-Japan partner meet held in Phuket Thailand on Jan 14-15, 2014.

Aligned very much with Stratasys, Altem believes that there is a tremendous potential in 3D Printing Market in India and have also taken initiative with help from Stratasys to create digital 3D Printing experience platform through printmyCAD.com portal.

I also take this opportunity to thank all our customers without whose continued patronage, recognition at APJ level in such a short time from inception would have been very difficult.

Apart from this, the first Polyjet Color Printer Objet500 Connex3 was also displayed for the partners during the meet. Additionally, for the first time we had an opportunity to understand 4D Printing.

 

Mr.Skylar Tibbits, Director at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Self Assembly lab, presented on 4D Printing. He, in association with Stratasys have developed 4D printing which focuses on developing self-assembly technologies. 4D printing essentially involve Printing in 3D and this 3D printing part or a “smart object” will change its shape or assemble itself when subjected to water, moisture or certain other conditions which is the fourth dimension. As highlighted in the presentation, once commercially available 4D Printer or 4D printing will have diverse applications. Such 4D Printed coolant systems can automatically supply more fluid when the engine is over heated or decrease the same in cooler conditions. A 4D Printed walking shoe converts itself into running when you start running.
