Stratasys F870™
F870™ Industrial 3D Printer
The large-format FDM® platform purpose-built for factory-floor tooling.
The F870 is designed to reliably produce large, strong, and accurate tooling, fixtures, jigs, and manufacturing aids — in-house and on demand. With the longest fully heated build chamber on the market, three new print heads, and up to two weeks of continuous unattended printing, the F870 replaces weeks-long tooling lead times with days.
F870: Produce large, industrial-grade parts with speed, accuracy, and ease.
- Expansive build capacity enables production of large parts or multiple components in a single build for maximum throughput.
- Integrated material drying system helps maintain optimal material condition for accurate, repeatable results.
- Shared high-capacity material spools with the F3300 simplify inventory management and reduce operational costs.
- Fully heated build chamber delivers consistent print quality and dimensional accuracy across the entire build volume.
- Fast, tool-free print head replacement minimizes downtime and keeps production moving.
- Create lightweight, high-strength parts with FDM Nylon 12CF, ideal for production tooling, fixtures, and functional prototypes.
Every Feature Serves a Tooling Outcome
The F870 is engineered from the ground up for consistent, non-stop tooling production.
Benefits
Every benefit supports production performance
From reducing lead times to lowering tooling costs, the F870 helps manufacturers bring tooling in-house, accelerate operations, and confidently meet production demands.
Tooling in Days, Not Weeks
Replace outsourced CNC or welded tooling with in-house production on your timeline. The N25 print head delivers up to 2× throughput for ASA, accelerating production timelines for large parts without sacrificing accuracy.
Up to 2 Weeks Unattended
With 4,100 cm³ material spools (shared with F3300) and reliable autochangeover, the F870 supports up to two weeks of continuous printing. Start a build Friday, come back to finished tooling.
Lower Total Cost of Ownership
The F870 undercuts comparable large-format industrial systems while delivering a fully heated chamber and closed material ecosystem. Fewer failed builds, reduced labor.
Scalable Material Platform
9 materials at launch with a scalable path for future materials. Common spool design with the F3300 unlocks flexibility across your FDM fleet and simplifies inventory.
Print Heads
Three heads. One platform. Every tooling need.
Choose the right print head for each application — fine-resolution tooling, carbon-fiber composite parts, or high-speed fixture production. Swap as needed on the same machine.

The F870 is designed around the applications that deliver the fastest, most measurable ROI in additive manufacturing — with specific focus on automotive and industrial tooling.
Primary Application
Production Tooling
Print custom tooling in-house, on demand. Reduce lead times from weeks to days and eliminate supplier dependencies for the tools your production line relies on every shift.
- Assembly fixtures
- Alignment jigs & check gauges
- Drill guides & templates
- End-of-arm tooling (EOAT)
- Forming & bending tools
- Ergonomic aids & lift assists
- Protective covers & housings
Core Application
End Effectors & EOAT
Replace heavy machined-aluminum end-of-arm tooling with lightweight Nylon 12CF alternatives. Reduce robot payload, increase cycle speed, and customize end effector geometry for each application — like the Heat Shield Gripper Tool showcased at IMTS.
Ergonomic Aids & Safety Tools
Hand tools, lift assists, and operator safety devices designed for specific workstations and tasks. Iterate ergonomic designs based on operator feedback without retooling cost or supplier delays.
Extended Application
Large Functional Prototypes & Bridge Production
For full-scale prototyping and low-volume bridge production, the F870 prints parts up to 1000mm in a single build – no splitting, no assembly.
Replacement Parts & Maintenance Solutions
Reduce downtime by producing replacement components, covers, brackets, fixtures, and maintenance aids on demand. With engineering-grade materials and large-part capability, the F870 helps facilities quickly replace hard-to-source parts and keep operations running.
